A Trick for Cleaning Bird Baths
To help keep slimy green algae from growing in a birdbath, take 6-8 stems of lavender flowers and tie them together with a daylily leaf. Lay this bundle in a clean, fresh birdbath.
One bundle will keep the water algae free for up to 3 weeks. Replace more often during hot weather.
