Spacing your ground covers
Groundcovers generally take 1½ growing seasons to fill in and completely establish themselves. Planting closer together can speed this to one growing season, while planting further apart can increase this to two growing seasons. Spacing is based on growth rate and the mature spread of the plants. The rate will vary somewhat depending on soil fertility, irrigation, climate, and maintenance practices
