Answer
Controlling Gophers
There are several different ways to deal with these pesky animals. These are the most organic solutions. Good Luck!
- Sprinkle human hair throughout the garden (you can get a supply from your local hair dresser). This is unsightly but effective.
- Gophers do not like scilla bulbs (also known as squills). These spring flowering bulbs need minimal care and are best for borders and rock gardens.
- Get a 12” x 12” x 36” box trap. Bait it with nutmeats or pieces of fruit.
- Place dog manure in holes. (Smelly but effective)
- Place empty, narrow-mouth bottles in holes. The wind vibrating in the bottles repels gophers, groundhogs, and moles.
