Aloe perfoliata (mitre aloe) is a clustering aloe, first forming a central rosette of emerald green leaves marked with small white teeth. As the main rosette grows taller it begins to fall prostrate, relying on the support of its clustering pups to remain upright. Coral-red flowers bloom on branching stalks in the late summer.
Aloes make a great indoor plant if you have a bright spot available. Up to 3′ tall and wide, forming clusters.
